Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, in the western state of America. He grew up here with his two sisters. Bill’s father William H. Gates Sr. was a lawyer in Seattle and his mother Mary Maxwell Gates was a schoolteacher at Washington Regent University. It is said that due to his father being a lawyer, his family wanted Bill to become a lawyer in future, but due to his interest in the technology sector, he chose a different path.

 

Bill Gates visited:Microsoft company co-founder Bill Gates visited a poor slum in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday morning and talked to the people living there. Along with this, he also went to Biju Adarsh Colony in Ma Mangala Basti along with the state government officials.Bill Gates inquired about the well-being of the people living in the slum and also interacted with the members of women self-help groups (SHGs) working there. State Development Commissioner Anu Garg said, ‘We informed them that the slum dwellers have got land rights, tap water connections, toilets and electricity supply. He expressed happiness over converting the slum area into a model colony.Gates arrived here on Tuesday and will meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik later in the day. Various departments of the state government are working in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
